Mike Rae Anderson, a Seventy-To start with Significant School alum, introduced his unbiased movie “A Polished Soul: A Tale of a Fayettenam Vet” on Amazon Key Video before this month. He unveiled a self-published e-book known as A Polished Soul: The Mike Rae Anderson Story” on Amazon in 2014.
Anderson reported he hopes his tale inspires younger people today headed towards difficulties to flip their life close to.

Anderson referred to himself as a “Fayettenam Vet” in his motion picture title as a nod to the city’s nickname.
“They called it a warzone in the streets,” he reported. “In prison, they just say Fayettenam or they say 2-6.”
Anderson unveiled the film in Fayetteville at the Omni Cinemas on Sycamore Dairy Highway in September.
Anderson explained he lived in a dwelling where by he witnessed his father, a Korean War and Vietnam War veteran with PTSD, abuse his mother. Soon after his parents divorced, Anderson reported, he viewed his mom struggle to make finishes meet up with. He mentioned he wanted to locate a way to make items greater for him and his brother, which is when he obtained involved with providing prescription drugs and guns.
In 1991, a number of days soon after his 19th birthday, Anderson was sentenced to life in jail after another person died in an altercation he was concerned in. He was at first struggling with the death penalty but took a plea deal.
Even though in jail, art saved his brain targeted, Anderson claimed.
“I would produce poetry every working day or produce scripts,” he mentioned. “I even place on plays on the inside of for the inmate inhabitants. I realized which is what I desired to do but I preferred to tell stories that was worthy of it.”
